Frequently Asked Questions

We suggest that the fabric is washed on a gentle cycle in cold water with like colors using a fragrance free, non-chlorinated detergent that is preferably environmentally friendly. We recommend drying your fabric on a low heat cycle, but the most environmentally friendly way to dry your fabrics is the good ole’ fashion way… hang dry. Not only is it better for our planet, but it will also increase the longevity of your fabric and clothing.

The most notable difference between organic cotton and regular cotton is that the cotton is grown without the use of harmful pesticides. Traditional cotton is accountable for almost 25% of all chemical pesticides used in agriculture. Nearly 50% of the textile market uses cotton, which means a lot os chemicals are seeping into our earth and over time this increases green house gases and the likelihood of contamination of the same soil that may grow our children’s, children’s vegetables. We think that is a BIG deal.

Initially there will be no noticeable difference in quality of organic cotton vs. traditional cotton. However, over time, we believe with proper care, organic cotton will actually last longer than traditional cotton because it has not been subject to chemicals and metals, that inevitably alter the quality of the cotton.

To be considered 100% organic, our cotton has to go through a very strict approval process. The certifier has approved every step in the process from the farming of cotton to the finished goods. The process covers the how the cotton is grown, how the cotton is transported, how it is milled, how it is bleached, the ink used to print, and notably our mill must meet a standard of fair working conditions. At the end of the process a certificated is provided to ensure that all of these standards have been met and approved.

Organic certificates are provided upon request.

Low impact dyes do not contain toxic chemicals or mordants, require less rinsing and have a high absorption rate. High absorption rates and a decreased use of rinse water create less wastewater and runoff.

Our Certified Low Impact Dyes are wash fast, and like all dyed fabrics will fade over time with repeated washing. Please see above for recommended washing and drying instructions to ensure the longest possible life of your organic fabric.

Please see our Store Policies Page for our refund and exchange policy.

Please thoroughly inspect your fabric before cutting to be sure that you are pleased with the quality before you cut into the fabric. We will only exchange or refund fabric that has not been cut or washed.
