A Modern Baby Quilt With Alpine Northwest!
Hello friends! Birch gal Arleen here with my newest quilt make – The Sincerely Quilt by Eudaimonia Studio. I could have happily chosen a number of sweet combinations using our Charley Harper Alpine Northwest collection and coordinating solids for this one. I love the limited palette that leaves a striking statement!
I was able to jam this quilt out in a day and a half, giving me some instant gratification, which after some very long winded projects, becomes a very much needed and triumphant feeling! I used the following prints and solids:
- Fabric 1: Heather Solid Poplin (try Orchid, which is in stock now!)
- Fabric 12: Lupine and Phlox
- Fabric 3: Rosy Finch
- Fabric 4: Bald Eagles Blue
- Fabric 5: Holly Berry Solid Poplin
Above is the full quilt top, ready to be quilted, however I am still undecided between machine or hand quilting.
Below, is my original mock up using solid Orchid (its a bit lighter in real life!) and a true to scale throw size (58.5″ x 58.5″), showing off a bit more of the prints than the baby version (38.5″ x 38.5″)
Well ok, now that the top is done, what about backing? I went back and forth on this for a while, but I have decided on Alpine Falls, which is easily a favorite from this collection!
This was another version I had contemplated making, as I really love the combinations of these colors! This mock up is also a true to scale throw size version, 58.5″ x 58.5″, and uses these fabrics:
- Fabric 1: Oat Solid Poplin
- Fabric 2: Hellebores Orange
- Fabric 3: Mountain Cottontails
- Fabric 4: Western Weasels
- Fabric 5: Lillies and Ruffed Grouse
I would no doubt use Hellebores and Marmot for the backing of this version!
Here is a little glance of the full collection, along with coordinating solids so you can best plan out your favorite combination!
I’ll be sure to add a finished quilt photo once it’s been quilted and bound, but in the mean time, check out some of these other fun ways to use Alpine Northwest!
